Personally, I think a Christian is a person trying to become more like Christ who has repented, believes in the divinity of Christ, and submits to God's will. - Repenting and surrendering to God opens the doors for Christianity.
- Hey so this assignment was amazingly challenging, exciting, and an eye opener on how desperately this campus needs the love, protection, and hope only Jesus can offer-
I think that a Christian is someone who believes that Jesus died to save us; to set us free. However, a Christian does not stop at merely knowing or believing that there is a creator who loved us beyond imagination. A Christian is a person who has a desire and a passion to walk out life with God and for God. Living out a daily struggle of surrender to God and non-conformity to the world.
Becoming a Christian is a heart thing not a head thing. It requires a true and honest repentance of sins and acceptance of Jesus as the one and only true savior. As a Christian a person should continually strive to seek after the will of God, which includes sharing His amazing news with those who do not yet believe.
A Christian is someone who has accepted Christ, and in doing so has not just accepted a name or title, but is willing to respond to the truths Christ has revealed, sacrificing the desires of a sinful and worldly life to better know and follow the one and only God. It is a relationship and a process that will continue for all of eternity.
A Christian is a true follower of Jesus Christ. I do not know how to put it in any simpler terms than that. Being a Christian is not determined by where we go to church, how often we go to church, or how involved we are in the church. It is not determined by the established religious views of our families, and it is not determined by the number of good deeds that we have done. Being a Christian means having a personal and intimate relationship with God and acknowledging Him as our one and only savior. Once we know we are Christians, we willingly follow God as he has asked us to do, worshiping Him in church, spreading His word to our friends and family, and going out of our ways to reflect His love and mercy to others through our own actions. While these ideas define the Christian lifestyle, they do not come close to defining what it means to experience the awesome power of God through a relationship with Him.
To become a Christian, one must understand what it means to follow Christ. Through this, some people may grow slowly into a life with God, while others my give their lives to him all at one time. In either case, I feel that becoming a Christian must be an individual’s personal decision. While such a decision is sealed through the promise we receive in baptism, it is not marked with celebrations or ceremonies, but in the heart of the individual.
Quote "I think a christian is someone that goes to church and has good morals and maintinas those morals. I would consider myself a christain but i dont go to church that often. I think its really all about the morals."
I have heard this response before...
A Christian is someone who has believed in their heart and confessed with their mouth that Jesus Christ died for our sin and rose again (Romans 10:9&10). This confession should be accompanied by the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians Chapt. 5:23) and a life of service. Ephesians Chapter 1:13 states "In Him you were sealed with the pomised Holy Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come". The fruits of the Spirit should accompany a confession of Christ. Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruit" Mat. 7:16
It was a really cool experience to ask folks on campus about Christianity and really made me aware that I don't talk to people enough. Most people are willing to talk if you appraoch them cordially and openly.
Keep up the good work.
